Rockingham,
also know as the Berrien Mansion, served as headquarters in 1783 for
General George Washington as he wrote his farewell address to the
Continental Armies. The General and Mrs. Washington lived at Rockingham
while the Continental Congress met in nearby Princeton.
The
Practitioners were invited to prepare
music for a new interpretive film of this historicsite. The film, produced by the Rockingham Association in conjunction with Visionary
Films, Inc., was released in the Spring of 2010. The plan is
for the half-hour film to be shown on a continuing basis at the new visitors’ center. This DVD,
“Rockingham: the Road to Peace” has won a 2010 Telly Award
for
History/Biography/Documentary. The
Telly Award honors the finest video and film productions, as
well as outstanding local, regional, and cable television programs.
